Hello Jaxx!! Welcome to Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews!!
- What made you decide to become a writer?
I was always an avid reader but as I grew up I didn’t see books I could see myself in or could personally relate to. I figured I would have to write one in order to do that so I did!
- What do you think makes a good story?
A good plot, realistic characters and emotion. If it’s a supposed to be a funny story and your reader doesn’t laugh you haven’t done your job. Whatever the emotion is you want it to pull your reader into the book so they feel it and connect to the story.
- Tell us about your favorite character from your books. Are they inspired by real life people you know?
I think it’s a tossup between Evan from Christmas Nick for Everyone and Julian Hazard from A Day on Plunderer’s Pride. I enjoyed them both for different reasons. Evan is your everyday hard working man looking for the same. He’s a good man that helps people when he can because he can. A genuine Good Samaritan. You don’t meet that many people like that anymore. But Captain Julian Hazard, he’s not that kind of man. He loves being a pirate and all the good and bad that come with it. The thought of plundering makes his dick hard! (My bad. Can I say that? If not, feel free to delete. J )
- What can we expect from you in the future?
I have many things in the works and submitted, but for sure I have I Love You to Death (zombie romance- Secret Cravings Publishing) and Reynaud’s Redemption-sequel to Cam’s Best Friend (fantasy romance)
- What is the most important advice you’ve ever received as a writer?
After my first book was sold a seasoned author gave me some advice that I continue to share with newbie writers: If you want to be a writer you must first hone your craft. No matter how great your story is, no will read it if it is riddled with novice mistakes.
- What do you do to relax and recharge?
When my brain locks up I watch comedies and drink vodka martinis. When it happens too often I find a beach to lie on and upgrade to Mai Tais. LOL
- Has reading a book ever changed your life? Which one and why?
Yes. To Love Again, by Bertrice Small. It was on the shelf at my aunt’s house. It was my first romance. To me it was epic and planted the first seeds of my wanting to write my own romance.
- We all have them… What is your guilty pleasure?
LOL I love white chocolate and Indiana Jones movies.
Thank you for talking to us today Jaxx! Best wishes in all you do!!
